And, 3/4" off my hips!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;WOOHOO!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No weight change, or inches lost from my bust, waist, or thighs, but WOOHOO!!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I can definitely feel it in my triceps and the backs of my quads. A li'l muscle definition is starting to take shape! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Keeps me motivated to continue through the hellacious Level 2. Period.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And just like with Level 1, there seems to be one cardio move I am just not coordinated enough to do at 7am. In L1 it was the Running Man, and in L2 it's the jump ropes with the kick. Seriously, I just cannot do more than one thing like that at a time. It's kind of like the rubbing the belly and patting your head trick you learned as a kid.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Unfortunately, I did not keep up with the advanced version like I did with L1, but today was just Day 1, and a lot of the moves I hadn't seen before. However, a lot of her moves are repeats from 30DS, which I like! I'm definitely still stronger than I was the first time I ever did 30DS, even though that was TWO years ago.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I can already tell a difference in my triceps and quads, which is crazy to me. That is sooo true! Once I'm in, I'm in. I really try (and do a pretty good job) to eat healthy, natural, wholesome foods. My problem comes at dinner, when I want to indulge. I was raised in the South, where food is second to God. Mom cooked a &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;huge&lt;/span&gt; breakfast and dinner at least 5 days a week, and holidays are a whole different blog post. However, I'm really trying to teach myself that &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102);"&gt;food is meant to sustain us, not pleasure us&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I turned 25 earlier this year, and I refuse to think that I'm "letting myself go". One of my best friends is about to turn 41, and she's smoking hot. It is my goal to be in that good of shape when I'm 40 and 50. So many of my family members (in their 40s) struggle with diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, etc... And &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102);"&gt;I refuse to become another statistic&lt;/span&gt;. We finished week 1 today, and will move on to the next level each Monday. After we complete week 4 (which I'm sooo scared of) we will begin running.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I know I posted some of &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102);font-size:130%;" &gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;my goals&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; in the &lt;a href="http://shredbabyshred.blogspot.com/2009/07/my-goals-wishes.html"&gt;very beginning&lt;/a&gt;, but just as a short term list...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;*Lose &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102);"&gt;20lb&lt;/span&gt; to get to where I was when I finished Shred the first time in '09, before getting pregnant.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;*Lose the following&lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102);"&gt; inches&lt;/span&gt; to get to where I was when I finished Shred in '09. Bust 1.25", Waist 3.5", arms 1", hips 7.5", thighs 1/4". (my arms are the same as when I first started, and my thighs are 1" smaller now than they were when I started the first time. And YES, somehow, my hips are that much wider after giving birth - gag.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;*To have my then fat days &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102);"&gt;jeans&lt;/span&gt; to become my new skinny jeans, for I still can't fit into any of those jeans. I guess that's because my hips are soooo much wider, huh?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;*Most importantly, to feel good about myself again. Mentally and physically, to just feel &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102);"&gt;good&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As a long term list, I'd ideally like to lose a total of 55-60lb and to have my measurements in an "average" range. Of course, I still want to meet my previous goals, and essentially weigh less than my husband.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To help me meet them, A's agreed to let me have a pedicure for every 10lb I lose, and to get my hair completely done for every 25lb.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here's to meeting new goals!!! Progress is progress, but it's definitely not my best. But though I've just been watching what I eat and not really exercising, I guess I get what I deserve.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So by simply not eating garbage I should be &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102);"&gt;proud&lt;/span&gt; to say in four months, I've lost &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 102, 102);"&gt;11 lbs&lt;/span&gt;. Better than the number on the scales though, is the numbers on my tape which show I've lost 1" off bust, 1/2" off arms, 3.5" off waist, 2.5" off hips, and 2" off thighs!!! That's a total of &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102); font-weight: bold;"&gt;9.5 INCHES&lt;/span&gt;!!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A and I are still in routine of getting up early and exercising though (with the exception of last week because his Dad was camped out in our living room). We did RI30 L1 again this morning. Whew, I'm so afraid of what L3 &amp;amp; L4 might offer. Though, I'm proud to say I can pretty much keep up with the advanced gal and use 5# weights. Unlike 30DS when I couldn't even do the beginner (or any&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt; real&lt;/span&gt; pushups) with 3# for the entire thing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ahh, progress. Little or big, it's better than none at all. It's so easy to do.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I haven't been consistently exercising. I haven't taken the time to take care of me. And I use the excuse that I don't have time, rather than, "I haven't &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;taken&lt;/span&gt; the time".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yeah, I eat pretty healthy. Yeah, I'm a stay at home mom, to a &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;very&lt;/span&gt; energetic &amp;amp; busy 1 year old. I've ran a few times (not over 6 or 7) since I last posted. I did Ripped in 30, 6 weeks to a 6 pack, and maybe Level 1 of the 30 day Shred maybe twice each since I last posted. Haha, but it's been a &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;long&lt;/span&gt; time since I posted.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Enough is enough. I've got to quick making excuses and start making time. In my pursuit to a healthier me, I recently &lt;a href="http://jaimaschutt.blogspot.com/2011/08/challenge.html"&gt;challenged myself&lt;/a&gt; to become better mentally, spiritually, and now physically. I'm on Day 5 of my personal challenge, and the last 2 days of those, I've been taking care of myself physically. Thus beginning my &lt;span style="font-size:130%;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102);"&gt;physical challenge&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yesterday, 8/11, Andrew &amp;amp; I (because obviously, it's clear by now, I cannot do this alone) ran. He pushed El in the jogging stroller. I did fairly well. Ran/walked a li'l over a mile. Which is a lot, for someone (me) who hasn't ran really in almost two years (wow, I cannot believe it's been&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt; that&lt;/span&gt; long).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today, we got up and did Level 1 Day 1 of Ripped in 30. I was pouring sweat when it was over. I kept up for pretty much the entire thing though (and could even do a few &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;real&lt;/span&gt; push-ups). Definitely did better, than the first time I Shred. I've also done 2 sets of 25 sit-ups since then. You know, in between caring for my 1 year old and the other 2 littles I keep. El loves to dance too, so throughout the day this week, I've been joining in. Acting a fool in my own living room. I've been drinking 2-4 quarts of water a day, too. Hoping that will help boost my metabolism and fight hunger. So far, so good. But, it's only Day 2.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm not sure what the plan/goal is exactly for this weekend as far as exercising goes. It's going to be a busy one.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thanks in advance for cheering me on. And for still supporting me after all my failures. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Enough is Enough. But definitely not consistently.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But NO more. I HAVE NO CHOICE but to do this. I seriously need my body back. So tonight I started over. I will do 9 more days of L1, move to L2 and do it for 10 days then L3 for 10 days. Then, I will proceed with my &lt;a href="http://shredbabyshred.blogspot.com/2010/09/my-challenges-goals.html"&gt;initial plan to hopefully reach my goal&lt;/a&gt;. I must accept the fact that I won't be ready for a biki this summer, but I've GOT to do this.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I desperately need your help. I have very little self-control and equally as much motivation. I tell myself repeatively that, "I want this" and "I can/must do this", but when it comes down to it, I just don't push myself to exercise. I eat pretty healthy (I've been on a gluten free diet for 3 years now since finding out I was a Celiac), but my problem is definitely over-eating at dinner.&lt;br /&gt;I gained 57 pounds when I was pregnant, and so far, in NINE months (good grief how time flies) I've only lost 29 of them. Though I am less sore than last night, I had a hard time keeping up. I'm not sure if it's because I was already physically and mentally spent for the day or what. But it was tough.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I signed up for the JM iPhone app a couple of days ago and really like it! It is a reminder every time I see it (and since my phone is pretty attached to my body, much like my baby, these days) I am reminded of my goals and the future challenges I have set for myself.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So what are &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;my challenges&lt;/span&gt;? Well, since I have at least 50 pounds (plus 20 to be at my ideal weight) I really need to lose. I have a plan set up to be at my goal by March 1. That means at least 1o pounds a month basically. And hopefully be able to wear shorts next summer! I know 70 pounds is a lot, but remember I did just have a baby.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I was going to wait 'til October 1st, but why wait?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Sept 21 - Oct 12&lt;/span&gt; - 30 Day Shred every day&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Oct 15 - Nov 14&lt;/span&gt; - No More Trouble Zone at least 5 days a week&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Nov 15 - Dec 14&lt;/span&gt; - Yoga Meltdown at lest 5 days a week (maybe mixed in with something else)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Dec 15 - Jan 14&lt;/span&gt; - Banish Fat Boost Metabolism  at least 5 days a week&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Jan 15 -Feb 13&lt;/span&gt; (how's that for ending on my anniversary) - Shred it With Weights every day&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sometime in the Spring I also plan to start the Couch Potato to 5k again and book a 5k for April/Mayish. Did I painfully block plank-jacks from my memory? I just remember that Level 2 was my least favorite the first go round, and I’m bettin’ it’s going to keep that record.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;I will say, that just like with the 2nd try of Level 1, I am much stronger. I was able to keep up with with Natalie for pretty much the whole thing. Even those dreadful walk-out pushups. Gah! And, I upped my weights to 5lb for some of it too.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;A got sucked in by some infomercial last weekend, and he is insisting on trying out shawn t’s insanity (or something like that) after 10 days of Level 2 and 3. I’m such a stickler for Jillian now though, I don’t know how I feel about that. Have any of you tried it? I’ve never even heard of it. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Anyway, I’m long over due for pictures and measurements. But, I do have some pictures. My highest weigh (in 2006) was a harrowing 210 lbs. I had dropped down to 160 lb in 2007, but have unfortunately racked up the lbs again to 189 when I began The 30 Day Shred on June 22, 2009. On Day 30 of The 30 Day Shred I weighed in at 181lb.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;I live in W*, CT.&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The 30 Day Shred was the first program that I have ever stuck to 100%. The first three days of Level 1 were pure hell! I never imagined completing Level 1, much less, Level 3. But, I stuck to it. Each night got easier &amp;amp; easier, and before I knew it I was keeping up with the advanced trainer instead of barely (or not even) keeping up with the beginner. For me, shredding became addictive. Each day I shockingly, yet seriously, craved it.&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A little of what motivated me was the fact that I did it at night, so that during it all I had to think about was a relaxing shower followed by bed. Also, the network Shredheads, consisting of other real life women (and some men) just like me kept me going. I consistently checked in with them and updated my blog so that I had some accountability, besides my husband. I told myself that I could do anything for six minutes (each level has three six minute intervals), then I told myself I could do anything for 20 minutes, then I told myself, that I could do anything for 10 days (each level consists of 10 days), and so on...&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;I weighed in and took measurements only at the end of each level so that I would not freak out if the scale did not move. I must admit, I was disappointed with the weight loss, but my disappointment was immediately reversed upon measuring. Each night I felt stronger and stronger and saw the results in the mirror almost immediately.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;I plan on shredding every three months or so. Especially during the winter months when I cannot get out and run. Since the program, I have convinced myself that if I can do that, I can do most anything. I have pushed myself to start running three days a week, and I no longer give up as I once did. For me, this is a lifestyle change. I never want to feel the way I did before shredding again. Even after only 8lbs, my self-esteem and the overall way I feel about myself and my life has drastically changed!&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Diet wise, I have simply been choosing healthier foods. Less than ten days before starting the Shred, I found out I have a gluten intolerance, so I have naturally cut out anything with wheat, rye, or barley (which is a LOT). Other than that, I have never been much of a junk food eater, but just an over eater at mealtimes. I have been minimizing my portions and reducing starches. I also try to eat everything in as close to their natural state as possible, so I have eliminated most all processed foods, and most anything that has unknown ingredients/chemicals in it.&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sorry for the long-winded response. This time, with my husband, a US Soldier.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;He was all excited at first, and somewhere during the first level of strength he said, "There's 3 levels of strength?" with panic in his voice. Yelp! Then he said, "okay, this is starting to burn"... I laughed!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And, I rocked! I definitely started a lot stronger than I did in Round 1. Maybe because the 5k I had booked got cancelled? Maybe because I am crazily &amp;amp; furiously working all the dang time? Maybe because it's now still dark at 6:00am?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sounds like a bunch of excused, right? Because it is! What's wrong with me?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Grr, I've got to break this cycle! My life has been a little hectic lately, but not &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;all&lt;/span&gt; in a bad way.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Okay, I can't hold it in any long. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;I RAN FOR 18 MINUTES STRAIGHT THIS MORNING&lt;/span&gt;!!! 1.5 miles (terrible time, I know, but still!!! I ran for 18 minutes straight)!!! Remember when I &lt;a href="http://shredbabyshred.blogspot.com/2009/08/couch-potato-to-5k.html"&gt;couldn't run 2.5 minutes&lt;/a&gt;!?!?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am keeping up with the 5k training I promised.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am not, however keeping up with Cardio Max &amp;amp; Weight Loss Yoga like I should be.&lt;br /&gt;Without too many excuses, I have been busy &amp;amp; since my brother (after almost 3 months) flew back to TN I haven't needed &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;me time&lt;/span&gt; to escape to the living room floor for exercises so much as I've wanted me &amp;amp; hubby time (to escape to the couch &amp;amp; relax)!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I cannot believe how much my outlook &amp;amp; endurance has changes since The 30 Day Shred. I am able to push myself further &amp;amp; further each day (or every other day as I'm training Mon, Wed, Fri) and IT FEELS GREAT!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This morning, I felt like a &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;rockstar&lt;/span&gt;! In fact, I even scheduled 2 consultations for liposuction/tummy tuck (that I never showed up for), and for 2 days consumed nothing but water mixed with cayenne pepper, lemon, and honey on what was suppose to be the 10 Day &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_Cleanse" target="_blank"&gt;Master Cleanse&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;I’ve been up, down, and (literally) all around the scale and in my attitude towards my weight, but thankfully, at some point (maybe after my miscarriage) I decided I didn’t want to do it simply to be “hot” or to fit into a size 4. Rather, I want to do this for me. For my health. I just want to be able to healthily raise a family and watch my children have children. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Some people “cheat” there way to weight loss by taking supplements, speed, or other crazy metabolism boosting things. But, just like I told my husband this morning, I’m doing this &lt;em&gt;for&lt;/em&gt; my heart &amp;amp; health, so why would I ever take one of those things (that &lt;em&gt;may&lt;/em&gt; speed up my weight loss) that could potentially damage my heart, or other organs? I’m not just doing it to reach a certain weight. My wonderful mom (whose battled her weight and numerous health problems her entire life) pointed out the other day while reading my posts that in the past it seemed I always had reason for dieting (prom, wedding, cruise, etc) and how she wished I would do it for life. And that’s what I want: for this to become a lifestyle change.&amp;#160;&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;This past year, I’ve become serious about my health. I have watched one too many (seriously, more than I can name) of my aunts/uncles pass away from heart attacks, complications from diabetes, and/or cancer. Sadly, there are only 2 of my grandmother’s 9 siblings alive today and each of those 2 have had heart attacks already. My grandmother, 7 of her sisters &amp;amp; her only brother, all passed away from cancer/heart issues. 1 of her sisters passed away the day after her 35th birthday from a heart attack. And that’s just my one grandmother’s immediate family. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;In deciding to become more healthy, I have not only taken up exercising (shredding, running, etc) &amp;amp; watching what I eat, but I am overall trying to live more naturally. I am trying to eat things in as close to their natural state as possible. I don’t buy &lt;em&gt;everything&lt;/em&gt; organic, but I also do not buy (many) things that have been processed. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;I’m also trying to eliminate other products from my usage &amp;amp; grocery lists too such as Tupperware (substituting it for glass containers because of &lt;a href="http://greenliving.suite101.com/article.cfm/kitchen_plastics" target="_blank"&gt;this&lt;/a&gt;). &lt;em&gt;In my opinion&lt;/em&gt;, everything is overly processed with chemicals, stabilizers, etc. And &lt;em&gt;I&lt;/em&gt; believe that these things are part of the cause to the many new health issues that have developed. People don’t live as long as they once did, and they surely didn’t get diagnosed with xyz disease before these chemicals were introduced into our system. I never buy paper/plastic cups or plates unless we’re having an outdoor bbq or sort (although I must confess I bought a bundle for while my brother’s visiting). I also always recycle the produce bags for cat litter disposal, trash can liners, etc. The only time I ever eat fast food is when I’m in Tennessee and happen to stop with my family (I must admit I love a good Sonic burger, but now that I’m Gluten Free, I guess I don’t have to worry about that). And so far this year, I haven’t even been there since Christmas. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;So what’s your reasoning for doing this? So far, I'm still in the same order I would have been. Thurs and today I did what I was suppose to do Tues and Wed, so it's all good. Except, I guess that means I have to work out extra hard on Sat and Sun when I hadn't planned on working out at all (oops) to be back on schedule for next Monday.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Recap of my week:&lt;br /&gt;Mon - AM- Ran 5 Min (sort of) PM- WL Yoga&lt;br /&gt;Tues -&lt;br /&gt;Wed -&lt;br /&gt;Thurs - PM Cardio Max&lt;br /&gt;Fri - AM - Ran 5 min PM (to do)- WL Yoga&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As I've done at least one session of each I thought I'd take the time to tell you what I think about it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Weight Loss Yoga - After Shredding, I felt like I was moving down scale instead of up. In fact, I felt a li'l silly doing it the first night. I realize though that it is neccessary for strengthening, stretching, and enlogating my body.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Cardio Max - Definitely not as difficult as Shredding, either. I kind of enjoyed it though. I felt the burn, but I definitely did not feel like I needed to "gargle my heart".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What I love about both of them is that it's real women doing it. Not to say that Natalie &amp;amp; Anita in The 30 Day Shred weren't "real" women (I mean come on, Anita has birthed two children before), but these women are real in the sense that they're at least curvy and sweaty. I enjoy that he doesn't Drill Sergeant you the whole time. While I probably needed Jillian to keep yelling at me while Shredding, I enjoy how Bob says, "as long as your doing something... if you need to break, take a break".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The 5k Training is so far - so good. I am not 100% confident that I'm going to be able to run 10 minutes straight on Sunday like the plan says since I barely sqeezed in 5:15 this am. We'll see though.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Please keep cheering me on though. After not doing anything for 2 days, I &lt;em&gt;really&lt;/em&gt; needed it to get back in gear yesterday. And then I was going to train exclusively for a 5k. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Well excuse me, but I may have jumped the ball. I’m going to do it &lt;em&gt;all at once&lt;/em&gt;. I’ve committed to a 5k on September 26th!!! Yes, I know how crazy that sounds. I would have thought it sounded even more bizarre 33 days ago, too! But, by the time I should be beginning training it’ll be September, and 6 weeks after that it will be mid October which means cold weather is well on it’s way to New England. Ugh.     &lt;br /&gt;    &lt;br /&gt;So, on the mornings (Mon, Wed, Fri) that I run I will be doing Yoga at night. Then on Tues &amp;amp; Thurs (and probably Sat &amp;amp; Sun) I’ll be doing the Cardio Max. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Today was my first morning of running in probably 2 weeks or so. I’ve always focused on running 2 miles instead of on my time, and so far, I’ve never been able to run a solid 2 miles (or a solid 1 mile for that matter). But &lt;a href="http://www.blisstree.com/healthbolt/go-from-couch-to-5k-in-5-weeks/" target="_blank"&gt;this program&lt;/a&gt; focuses you on building up your resistance by time.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;u&gt;Here’s my stats for this am.&lt;/u&gt; (Note I was suppose to run 5 minutes straight and cool down 5 minutes)&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Run 2:15 (is that sad or what? Before I felt like dying, but I &lt;em&gt;was&lt;/em&gt; doing it at a good speed)&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160; I'm &lt;em&gt;shredded&lt;/em&gt; (at least in the technical term)!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I realize that most of my posts have been all gung-ho, hoorah, mojo boositing and all, but please don't let that intimidate you. Seriously, as cliche as this will sound, but if I can do it - so can you! 30 days ago, I was in no physical shape whatsoever! Yes, I ran on occastion. Truthfully though, I should say jog/walk at best. I weighed nearly 190 lbs for crying out loud! I could hardly do Level 1 warm up without taking a breather.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But, alas, I worked at it. I pushed myself a li'l further each night, and somehow I just finished Level 3 - Day 10!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tomorrow, I will take my Day 30 photos and measurements and will then post them for you all to see. I will also begin &lt;a href="http://www.amazon.com/Biggest-Loser-Workout-Weight-Loss/dp/B001GP5TLI"&gt;Weight Loss Yoga&lt;/a&gt; and then alternate it every other day with &lt;a href="http://www.amazon.com/Biggest-Loser-Workout-Cardio-Max/dp/B000WEVGHA/ref=pd_bxgy_d_img_c"&gt;Cardio Max&lt;/a&gt;!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yay, me! And, the above title is the famous Jillian Michael's quote from Level 1.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I just wish I had focused more on doing it throughout Level 1 &amp;amp; 2! I've been trying to constantly hold them in during Level 3, and Holy Moly, what a difference! My abs are much more sore!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;__________________________________________&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I also have another small confession to make :( I skipped last night's work out because my stomach is sooo sunburned from lying out on Saturday! So tonight was Level 3, Day 7 instead of Day 8. Regardless, I only have 3 more days, and I can hardly wait to weigh in! I was very dissapointed in myself though! I worked out so hard to sport my bikini at the pool, and then because of the stupid bikini I could't work out. Oh well. Tonight was much better!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;__________________________________________&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I received The Biggest Loser's Cardio Max &amp;amp; Fat Burning Yoga tonight which I plan to alternate everday for the next 30 Days. Well, after Shredding is done!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;__________________________________________&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is definitely getting easier! I can keep up with Natalie for everything except the jumping lunges &amp;amp; traveling pushups. I can only do like 10-12 of each of the first rep before I have to step down to Anita's level. AND, I can do the entire thing without a breather until Level 3 cardio! Those jump squats and rockstars kick my butt after Level 1 &amp;amp; 2! We joke that he eats, and I gain.&lt;br /&gt;* To be able to run a solid 2 miles without stopping, and hopefully in 6 months be able to run a 5k.&lt;br /&gt;* To be able to do at least 15 &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;real&lt;/span&gt; push-ups. I can only do like 5 now.&lt;br /&gt;* To be able to put my knees together without my thighs touching!&lt;br /&gt;* And, to have these "ideal" measurements be posted on my blog within six months:   &lt;br /&gt;   Weight - 140lb (46lb down)&lt;br /&gt;   Breast - 36" (2 1/2" down)&lt;br /&gt;   Arm - 12" (3" down)&lt;br /&gt;   Waist - 24" (10" down)&lt;br /&gt;   Hip - 36" (8" down)&lt;br /&gt;   Thigh - 22" (6 1/2" down)     &lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;   Total inches lost: 30” Pounds lost: 46!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We can all dream, right?!? Not "obese". There's just something about that word that makes me want to Shred 3 times today!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To be "normal" I need to lose 36lbs.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Which brings me to my next point; What is "normal"? I surely do not look like the pictures of women on the news when they are doing segments on obesity. I can see my knees, I can feel my hip bones. I wear a size 12, for crying out loud, the "average" size of all American women. And, doesn't "normal" and "average" kind of mean the same thing?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I guess I should really take another look at myself in the mirror though, and focus a li'l more on the scale. Seriously, the first few nights of each Level I’ve been trembling. Dripping sweat. Pumping blood. Running adrenaline. Breathing easier. Now, I’m unsure if there’s a full length version of each Level, but these are broken down. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;And, to recap there are 3 levels. Each level consists of a 2 minute warm up, 3 circuits of “321” (meaning 3 minutes strength training, 2 minutes cardio, 1 minute abs), and a 2 minute cool down. I have had a crazy hectic schedule the past week or so, and it takes all that I have left of me to Shred at night, so blogging is definitely out of the question.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;What did I think of Level 2? I HATED IT! Although, I wasn’t nearly as sore with Level 2 as I was with Level 1, it didn’t get significantly easier each night. I still really had to push myself hard tonight. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;I’ve been in a li’l bit of a funk too the past week. Maybe because of my monthly visit from my leastfavorite aunt? So my desire to exercise at night has been very little. I definitely have not c raved doing it like I did Level 1. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;But, I can notice a difference in my body! Only one headache. “Normal” system again. No more terrible stomach pains. Much less bloating. No more puffy swollen eyes. My period started on the day it was suppose to for the first time since my miscarriage almost 2 years ago, now! That's a &lt;em&gt;huge&lt;/em&gt; plus! Especially since I went 3 days without doing it! I made it all the way to cycle 2's cardio before I had to take a 5 second break. And, I did &lt;em&gt;every one&lt;/em&gt; of the standing pushups (or whatever they're called)!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Go me!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The thing that amazes me the most is the after burn though. I feel it so much more afterwards than I do while I'm actually doing it. When I finish and after the cool down I'm almost trembling! I wonder how many calories I continue to burn after the workout?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've also started drinking 1 cup of skim milk after the workout! I read yesterday that it helps build more muscle and burn more fat and fat if you drink it afterwards. Plus, it actually ceases my everynight craving for icecream!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Going to bed earlier tonight. First, let me just get out how flippin' sore I was all day after days 1 and 2! &lt;em&gt;Holy Moly&lt;/em&gt;! I Have muscles I didn't know I had! But, I persevered and even after a full days work and then a three hour condo meeting, I did it! &lt;em&gt;And&lt;/em&gt;, I didn't follow Anita (beginner) at all (well exept those blasted pushups)!!! I did the full "butt kicks" and all with very minimum stopping! WOOHOO!!! This may actually work! It's a definite love/hate! I feel &lt;em&gt;GREAT&lt;/em&gt;!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I found out that the average person of my weight &amp;amp; height burns 380 calories (&lt;em&gt;Yes&lt;/em&gt;, almost 400 calories) while doing this! More than just wanting to lose the weight, I truly want to be healthy. For my sake, and for the sake of my family (b/c Lord willing we will someday have a successful pregnancy &amp;amp; raise a healthy family).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Growing up in The South with Mama, Maw-Maw, Nanny, Granny, and 8 Great Aunts (who were all extraordinary &lt;a href="http://jaimasugarspice.blogspot.com/2009/04/love-for-cooking.html"&gt;Southern Cooks&lt;/a&gt;) I didn't learn a lot about nutrition or serving suggestions or really anything about food except how to prepare it Southern style, serve it, and the proper etiquette for eating it. I surely didn't know what calories, carbohydrates, glutens, or proteins were. I just knew that food was good &amp;amp; that I could eat whatever I wanted, pretty much whenever I wanted.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I never really participated in organized exercise. I actively played softball from the age of 6 'til I was 18, but never performed any other type of fitness.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It wasn't until I moved to CT and started planning my wedding that I really freaked out about my weight. In February of 2006 I saw a commercial for LA Weight Loss and immediately called. I was desperate for anything. Can you believe I weighed in at only 20 years old weighing 210 lbs? I can't believe I even just admitted ever weighing 210 lbs. For 8 months I got serious about every thing that went into my mouth. I weighed &amp;amp; measured every ounce of what I ingested. I wrote down ever teaspoon of butter, every dollop of mayo (fat free? You bet!) and I consistently weighed and measured my body!!! By my wedding in October of 2006 I had had my wedding gown taken in twice &amp;amp; had lost 50 lbs! I was psyched! But, then I plateaued. The scale wouldn't budge. For weeks I watched my weight flutter from 158-162 back and forth - up and down. So I threw in the towel. But, then I realized that not only had the size of my treetrunklegs changed, for so had my mind &amp;amp; health.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Since then, I have monitored what I ate. I haven't documented every ounce of fluid I intake or every MnM I've eaten though, but overall I've made much better choices. In fact, I can't tell you the last time I had fast food, or the last time I had a french fry for that matter. I haven't consistently exercised though &amp;amp; I think that there is where my problem lies. In the post I mentioned before, you'll notice that I state last year for our cruise I was running 2 miles a day! And I did &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;until the cruise&lt;/span&gt;. But, the last 7 months I've been pretty sedentary. I've did a few dvds and ran probably less than 50 times. Wow, probably a lot less than that actually. And I'm sick of being this way.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A couple of months ago now, my girlfriend Jodi started a Gluten Free diet. We have a pretty similar unhealthy body &amp;amp; very similar physical symptoms (chronic pain, fatigue, Lymes, etc) and she suggested I try it as within a week she saw such a dramatic difference. She's constantly been on my case about it, and I must admit I thought she was a li'l crazy (I mean, there's no way whole weat pasta, bread, chips, and oats I've been subsitituting for the real things are bad for you - is there???), but last Monday 6/15 I obliged and have been Gluten Free for 8 days now! She is actually &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not&lt;/span&gt; crazy! I would have never known that I had a Gluten Intolerance had I not finally given in. Just within the first week, I don't have the constant burning pain in my shoulder blades or the chronic headaches. My system is "normal" again. I am not hungry - at all (Me not hungry! Unbelievable!!!???). I feel satisfied after eating a small amount and don't get the unignorable desires for food like I did just a few 10 days ago.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm not totally sure how it all breaks down &amp;amp; works. But I do know that gluten is found in anything with wheat, barley, rye, etc. Which is pretty much any kind of complex carb which we shouldn't have anyway. Those are the carbs that cause the sluggish feel &amp;amp; actually crave more food. They don't allow your body to absorb all of the right nutrients and in turn turn them all to fat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, in addition to eating more healthy, I recently discovered "&lt;a href="http://www.motherhooduncensored.net/shred/"&gt;Shredheads&lt;/a&gt;", and although I'm not really familiar with how her site works just yet, I'm glad I found it. I think it may change my life, actually! Shred is the term used for doing Jillian Michael's (from The Biggest Loser) "30 Day Shred" dvd. Shred is a 20ish minute workout dvd which consists of 2 minute warm up, 3 cycles of 3-2-1 (3 minute strength, 2 minute cardio, 1 minute abs), and 2 minute cool down. It is broken down into 3 different levels of difficulty and the goal is do each level for 10 consecutive days and then move up to the next level which you should have completed all within 30. It guarantees a drop of 20lbs (though I'm not holding my breath or even focusing on that. Remember, I'm mostly doing it to get back in shape &amp;amp; be healthy). I've been following everyone's results online and WOW! I figure if these women, who are real natural women like me, can do it then I can!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, last night the $12.00 &lt;a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00127RAJY/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&amp;amp;qid=1245789900&amp;amp;sr=8-1&amp;amp;condition=new"&gt;dvd&lt;/a&gt; arrived &amp;amp; I started Level 1! I took before pictures, measurements, and weight, but I'm way too conscious to post them yet. But, I figured if I at least blogged about it I would be more accountable for being consistent with this.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, cheer me on. Join me. And occasionally ask me how it's working. You've gotta", the words I repeated over and over to myself after a 3.5 mile walk Tuesday &amp;amp; Thursday.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've always (seriously, &lt;em&gt;always&lt;/em&gt;) battled my weight. It peaked in January of 2006 when I turned 20 and reached 210 lbs (I cannot believe I just confessed that publicly) and could hardly fit into a size 18. I started LA Weight Loss and got down to 160 right before our wedding that October where I walked down the aisle in a highly altered size 14 wedding gown. But, I couldn't get below that. I had reached a what I thought was a &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected"&gt;plateau&lt;/span&gt; and after weeks of the scale not moving threw in the towel with &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;LAWL&lt;/span&gt;. Since then, I've continued the battle. My weight ranging from 140-155 back and forth back and forth.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What really upsets me though, is that I keep allowing myself to watch my weight creep back up. Last October - November I had worked up my ability to run 2 miles straight EVERY day, and I felt GREAT! I didn't really get below 160, but I lost another dress size and really felt good about &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-corrected"&gt;myself&lt;/span&gt; &amp;amp; my body. I started losing inches from my legs and waist.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then, However came December. And with December came the 10 day all you can eat cruise. Followed 2 days later by the 3 week vacation to Tennessee, New Mexico and all places in between for Christmas. Then came my birthday in January and our five year "date anniversary" in February. And here I sit today &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-corrected"&gt;miserably&lt;/span&gt; disgusted at myself. I can barely button the new jeans I bought after I lost that dress size, and I just feel like a fat slob. I struggled this week to even &lt;em&gt;walk&lt;/em&gt; the 3.5 miles for 2 days. I &lt;em&gt;cannot&lt;/em&gt; believe I let myself get back into this shape.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My problem is that I do actually watch what I eat. I eat healthy proportions of all moderations of food. The only thing is that I quit exercising. Now, hopefully that it is finally above freezing I will be without excuse to get out of the house and run. But, I am really going to need a &lt;em&gt;lot &lt;/em&gt;of motivation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've just got to keep telling myself that I CAN DO THIS. I have to do this.
